“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.”
Andrew Tyler (Tytler?) 1787
Whoever said it... I think they may be right and we're all heading right along with it.

For the record: we don't have a democracy. We have a constitutional republic.
And are you aware the the % of people in poverty hasn't changed in the last 40+ years? Not the same people of course, but the same %.
ohhh also are you aware that middle class is shrinking???
Yeah I think it has shrunk like 11% or something like that (i am not sure of time frame).
wonder where it it went? well that 11% moved up not down.
